A Week of Learning

Hola Todos!

This week went by so fast! I learned a lot this week about humility and hard work.

This week I did intercambios with another area. It went really well! Not very many people opened the door but we were able to spend the day constantly looking for people. There was always someone as a backup plan. I learned a lot about the importance of our calling as missionaries and representatives of Jesus Christ and the diligence and respect we should give it. I loved that they had written out a list of names and addresses from the area binder and whenever we got stuck, we got to looking for the people on the list.

This week I learned about humility and the service we are called to give as missionaries. On Saturday morning, I came back to my area from intercambios. We dropped the stuff off at the house and headed out to work. We went to visit a recent convert who has been sick lately. The elders were unable to help and we spent a good while looking for members of the ward who were available on such short notice. We got in contact with two after a while. As we waited for the brothers in our ward to arrive to be able to give him a blessing, we cleaned the house. The brothers arrived and we were able to give him a blessing. Then the sister who was going to help us with lunch called, unable to help us. We ate late that day and were headed to help an investigator paint her fence. I was stressed and tired and trying to look for the best of the situation. About five minutes after we finally sat down to eat, the elders called. They had an emergency in their baptism and needed my companion to give a talk. We ate in 15 minutes and went running to the chapel. We got there in time and I was able to feel the Spirit that I so desperately needed. It was a humbling experience for me.

I love this work and am so glad for the privilege I have to be here. I loved the quote that says:
'Es toda una obra. Es la cosecha del SeƱor. Algunos misioneros plantan semillas. Algunos nutren semillas. Y algunos cosechan la cosecha. Pero toda es una obra.' -Ronald A. Rasband

It helps me know that all the Lord asks is that I do my part, whatever He decides it is.

Thank you for all that you do for me! I love and miss you all! Have a great week!
