Hola todos!
I don't have much time to write today, but hey, I've made it three months! That's like a sixth of my mission ;) I'm still loving every second.
This week I wanted to talk really quickly about Thanksgiving.
It is a day dedicated to giving thanks for all the blessings we have in this life. it's a day to be with family and to reflect on all the good you have been privileged to receive.
I just want to remind you that this attitude of gratitude should be something we take with us every day, not just when a holiday calls for it.
I've learned here that we should never take anything for granted. God has given us everything, success, happiness, families, everything. He gave His Son for us. All we have we owe to Him. We should always be grateful. Not just when the world says we should be. We have the marvelous opportunity to communicate directly with our Father in Heaven and tell Him how grateful we really are every day.
I am always reminded of the hymn: Count Your Blessings
- When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
- Refrain:
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God has done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
*Count your many blessings, see what God has done.
[*And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.]
- Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
- When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings—*money cannot buy [*wealth can never buy]
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
- So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
May we all remember to count our blessings and give thanks to the One who gave them to us.
I love you all.
