Que tal todos?!

This week, as every week, has been hot and filled with walking. We were a little disappointed to see that two of our investigators, Karen and Li, headed out to Jalisco for sure :( On the other and, we were excited because Leonardo came to church!! We have been teaching him for a while but he hadn't come to church. Our last two lessons we had with him were powerful. I had left him to read Alma 5 and to think about the things he needed to do. The next time we came, he had read it all and marked it up. He told me he understood that he needed to repent. We then taught the Ten Commandments and committed him to come to church. This time he said he would come. and HE CAME!! We have another appointment for this Tuesday and we are excited to see how it goes and are looking to set a baptismal date!

In other news, we found a dog in our neighborhood that likes to sit on top of cars. We had some pretty good (and not to mention cheap) wings and french fries. We made friends with another little dog who now won't stop trying to sneak into our apartment. We got stuck walking and hour and a half in a dirt storm and came home with our hair like Albert Einstein. We had another 'thrillin Thursday' with Daniela! Every Thursday she takes the afternoon to come with us to our appointments and she has an amazing Spirit! It's always my favorite day of the week :)

This week I've been thinking a lot about what success is. I learned that it is so easy to get caught up in what the world thinks success is. For example, the attainment of popularity or profit. But in the eyes of the Gospel, its very different. I have come to know that success is measured by our obedience to our Father in Heaven. It's knowing that we are doing our best and have the pure desire desire to do what He needs us to do. I learned that it takes patience and practice to remind myself of this. But i also learned that when I remember it, I'm a happier person. we have to remember that life happens on an eternal timeline and not just here on Earth in this life.

I love you all.
I miss you all.
I'll talk to you soon!

Con amor,
han thompson :)
