From Outside the Fence
After I emailed last week, we had the immense pleasure to hear from Elder David A. Bednar. Here. In el CCM. It is something I'll never forget for the rest of my life and so far has been the highlight of my time here. I think, yes, it may be because we had an apostle come, but I think it's been my favorite because of the things the Spirit testified to me. It's my favorite because I was able to look past the words being said and focused on the things the Spirit wanted to tell me. I was able to receive answers to questions that I've had for a long time, since I got here, and to questions I didn't even know I had. The spirit was so evidently present that night. But yeah, not going to lie, it was pretty cool to be sitting two rows away from an apostle of God.
I feel so bad because so many amazing things happen all the time, but I only have so long to share them with you all! Um some brief notes:
-We sat and watched a CCM worker literally catch a parrot the other day. That was interesting.
-I got to go outside the fence today!! Nothing too exciting, just immigration. I actually got to talk to two French teachers that were in Mexico City to teach. I talked with them for quite some time (cause we all know government work takes forever) and we talked a lot about why I was a missionary and what missionaries for the Church did. It was so fun to talk about something I'm so passionate about. (Not to mention it was in English)
-After our first week, we finally got to take off our white dots!!! It's so crazy to think that this is already my third week here.
I love you all so very much and I love this work. I am the most content I have ever been in my entire life. Elder Bednar gave us a blessing last week. He said "The more lost you get, the more sure you will be." I promise and I testify that that is true, The more lost you become, in anything but most importantly the gospel, the more sure you will be about who you are and where you are going.
I wish all of you the best this week and I'm sending all my love from Mexico.
