The Big Day- Aug 14, 2018

The flight from IF to SLC was uneventful for the most part and the cool part you already saw. (Jessica was seated next to her Trek Pa from this summer, he is our neighbor and it was a blessing to have someone she knew fly with her on her first leg of her journey) After that, I made it to my gate in SLC which wasn't hard to find because there were dozens of teenage boys in suits and girls in dresses milling around. No one had name tags so I knew they were going to el CCM. I did chat with a few sisters who had tags and were headed out to the field through a near by gate. After boarding the plane I realized I couldn't really watch or do anything. So I spent four hours looking around, writing in my journal, and reading through el Libro de Mormon. Then they gave us immigration cards and we filled those out. We got off and picked up our luggage. After we went through all the lines else we got to wait in another line for the buses to come and take us to the CCM. We waited about 20 minutes and I made friends with Hermana Natjes. The bus came and we got on. It was un poco hot.
Driving through the streets of Mexico City reminded me a lot of Peru, where there are lines on the road but no one really obeys them. Everyone drives super close to each other, there are vendors on the highways, and motorbikes squeezing in out of impossible gaps. It also reminded me un poco de France with the speed limit signs. It was about a 30 minute ride to el CCM. It's crazy how much it reminds me of Peru. The houses go up on the hills and they are all mostly bright colors.
